Pete Townshends "I hope I die before I get old" is fine for a twenty year old who believes "Don't trust anyone over thirty", but I'm about to hit 30 for the second time.

Hence, I fly both the freak and age flags proudly. The freak flag is a personal choice everyone said I would "grow out of". The age flag flys out of gratitude, because getting old beats the alternative.

"Gee davey"

I was in high school and my friend threw a party and we all slept over. 6 AM rolls around and the TV is still on when Davey and Golitah comes up. A buddy picks up a shoe and throws it at the TV and says, "Shut up you f-in piece of clay"

Always remember that we were hungover but dying laughing.

Is that a good NOT, or a bad NOT???

Like I said, I'm lost in this part of town... First night here took 15 minutes to walk to the store and an hour to find my way home! I'll figger it out though...

And I have not forgotten...

I didnt hear about that. Thanks WHARFRAT.

Many a Sunday morning I spent with his characters.

Thanks Art, RIP

The PBS has run a bio of Art a few times. Maybe with his passing, they will again soon. He was quite a character himself.

From the article linked above:

"Clokey said he enjoyed Murphy's profane Gumby.

"Gumby can laugh at himself," Clokey told the Tribune."

I bought mine in a Five and Dime store near Williamsport, PA around 1986. So would have got the fat Jerry if they had it.

Thanks for the info. R.I.P. Mr. Clokey... Now, from memory:

"Once he was a little green ball of clay: Gumby!
But you should see what Gumby can do today: Gumby!
He can walk into any book
With his pony pal, Pokey, too
If you have a heart
Then Gumby's a part
Of you...
Gumby!"
